You can join our Managing Mood Day Program, Addictive Behaviours Day Program or Trauma & Recovery Day Program, all onsite at The Hills Private Hospital in Baulkham Hills. Your doctor will be able to advise the most suitable program for you. GP or psychiatrist referral needed.


Managing Mood Day Program

This program aims to help you improve and maintain your mental health.

The group therapy program is suitable for people 18 years and over who could benefit from some extra mental health support. It’s suitable for people living in the community with a range of common mental health conditions.

These include:

  • Anxiety
  • Depression
  • Grief and loss
  • Mood disorders
  • Trauma and PTSD
  • Personality disorders
  • Psychosis

  • Understand and manage anxiety and depressive symptoms
  • Build awareness of barriers to social engagement and connection
  • Communicate more effectively (i.e. set boundaries or enhance relationships)
  • Understand and manage emotions

  • Better cope with impacts of social media on mental health
  • Support the development of a healthy identity and gain greater self-awareness
  • Cope with change.

 

Program Length

12 Weeks

  • Mondays 6:00pm to 9:00pm; and
  • Wednesdays 9:30am to 12:30pm


Addictive Behaviours Day Program

This program aims to help you manage your recovery from addiction.

This group therapy program provides vital support and treatment for people 18 years and over who have experienced problems with misuse of alcohol, drugs and other substances.

It’s for people in the community who are interested in maintaining, or working towards abstinence.

The program also supports people recovering from other behaviours such as gambling, gaming, exercise, sex and social media addiction.

  • Identifying and managing triggers
  • Addressing patterns of addictive behaviour
  • Understanding and managing urges and cravings
  • Strategies for Emotional Regulation
  • Developing Self-Acceptance

  • Developing a personal recovery plan
  • Exploring personal concerns related to alcohol or drug issues or other addictive behaviours in a confidential, supportive group setting.

24 Weeks

  • Thursdays 9:30am to 12:30pm.


Trauma & Recovery Day Program

This program aims to help you manage your trauma and supports your recovery.

This program is for adults with a history of trauma, either single incident or complex.

The program uses a range of evidence-based therapies, in particular Cognitive-Behavioural Therapy (CBT) and Mindfulness.

The program is delivered via group therapy. Exposure therapy is not used.

Our team use evidenced-based techniques drawn from a combination of Cognitive Behaviour Therapy, Acceptance and Commitment Therapy, Dialectical Behaviour Therapy, relaxation and mindfulness.

Group therapy, facilitated by caring healthcare professionals, is a safe place for you to share and receive support alongside other people who may be experiencing something similar to you.

This is a great way to access ongoing support for your mental health in a welcoming and encouraging community setting. These structured sessions use the latest evidence-based practice to draw on your own strengths to develop strategies to aid in your recovery.

Some people choose to join a day program after a stay at Windsor Road Private Clinic. This helps them put the skills and strategies they learned in hospital into practice when they return home. However, you don’t need to have stayed in hospital to attend our day program.

You may be eligible to receive a rebate for day programs through your private health fund. Self-funding is also available.

How do I join a day program?

Speak to your GP or specialist for a referral to our day programs.

Have your GP send the referral form below to wrpc@healthscope.com.au.

If you’ve been staying with us as an inpatient, your healthcare team will talk to you about joining a day program.
